It was cold and the picking were slim in the Everglades. The water levels appeared to be fairly high and that may also account for the paucity of birds.

There were, of course, cormorants, anhingas and alligators but not much else. I saw a couple of great blue herons and literally "one each" of green heron, little blue heron, purple gallinue, wood stork, egret and white heron. While there were some shooting opportunities, they were far fewer and in between than in previous years.

Glad I didn't buy that 500 or pay for a rental!

ummmm, the Everglades is a very large area so could you be a bit more
specific to the area of EVerglades you are refering to ??

I have found some areas to be jumping with birds.......

Anhinga Trail to Flamingo. There were quite a few ducks out on Mrazek Pond but no Roseates, etc.

Sorry for the local conditions. With the high water there is not much to see. There is something interesting right before you get to the Park. A Vermilion Flycatcher (took pictures of it today) will post information in the Florida section.
