One of my shorebird pics taken at Cherry Hill Beach, Nova Scotia this past summer. Maybe it's just me, but I found the BB Plovers to be extremely shy compared to the other shorebirds. I did finally find this cooperative individual which made the muck and mosquitos worth it.

Eos10D, 600+1.4x, 1/250@f7.1, ISO 400, ~10% crop from left, cloned out an OOF black blob in upper right

cheers, Oliver

Yes they are shy compare to others. Great photo, the background and foreground are amazingly clean.

Beautiful, clean image, Oliver. This guy's got a big fat meal in front of him. Just wondering if you noticed those jaggies in the worm?

This is a great shot....and the worm really is the perfect touch. The water is so smooth and gives a nice reflection. And yes...my experience was that they were considerably more skittish than other shorebirds that I shot this summer.

It's hard to tell at web size, but I think you're seeing the worm's segments.

Wow!! Awesome image. The composition is really nice. The second post showing the worm's segments is incredibly detailed.

This is great, Marc. I love the soft light and clean background, and obviously your timing was impeccable.

Wonderful image. I probably would have put the bird a little closer to the left

Marc,

This is an excellent shot. The light, the reflection, and the worm all help make this a special image.
