I may be posting this somewhat early.

My sincere thanks to Mike Wilson for telling me about this bird and coming back to get me and show me where he was. We shot for an hour a spotted sandpiper while the tattler napped. After the surf receded we could ge up on the slippery rocks and proceed to get closer to this tattler. I had to elevate my legs to shoot over foreground rocks etc to get this image. The LR corner has been added because it was totally OOF.

Very nice shot... I think that the opne beak and walking give it a bit extra...

Cheers,

Very nice shot. I agree with the previous comments. I would have preferred a little more tail room.

Thanks for sharing.

Dynamite shot, Jim, of this 'slippery' tattler!!! Great job of getting the 'step to My Lou' ... open beak and feather details!!! I've seen one in CA, but never better than now, my friend!!! :D :D 8)

Excellent Jim. Looks just as good as it did on your laptop. I like the fix on the LRC. The bill tip and raised foot are bonuses for sure. So glad to help you get one of your target birds. Now, where are those Surfbirds hiding... 8)

I think this is teriffic. A bird I have never seen or even heard of, a really nice BG and the colors of the image are blending well. Wish it were mine!

Jim,

This is wonderful!! I love everything about it. The open bill puts it up another notch. The repair work on the lrc is great.

A great close up. Love the antisapated step and the open bill showing the movement of the bill tip.

Extremely nice! I love the mid-stride and all the little black tipped toes. I also really like the way the rock and BG are distinctly separate tones.

Jim,

This shot is everything you said it was and full frame no less. I love it.
It was good to meet and shoot with you Saturday. Hope your Woody and Ring Necks came out as well as this image. BTW, with a little PS work the Great Horned Owl didn't come out too badly.
