Australian Pelican Pelecanus conspicillatus

Well, it was until a dog free from a leash butted in and scared them off. As luck would have it, all that was left was this feather and some great ripples. Having seen similar images before, I thought I'd give it a go. Hope it's ok in this forum.

EOS5, 300 f/4 + 1.4x, f/8, Astia 100.

Well Andrew, it is part of a bird, and one that you identified so we'll just have to leave it here. :) it's a very nice photo with beautiful water.

Pretty nifty colors and nice composition and I like the water effect; might beg Sandy for some of the Ninja juice to sprinkle on the graininess. Would the image happen to be cropped?

I thought Dan Creighton had the exclusive U.S. rights to all feather shots of this genre....Oh I see...This was in Australia :0)

Very nice..I have a weakness for the more simplistic type shots...just a little slice of what was, is, or could have been..a lot of fun for the imagination. Nice composition...beautiful background.

Classic shot with a twist... I like the transparent blue water.

Excellent image. I love how the patterns and undulations in the water lead my eye right to the feather.
