Snow Bunting
Plectrophenax nivalis

I shot this guy a couple of weekends ago... I used my shorebird tactics and put my lens on my groundpod for a crawling session, only this time in the snow. It was cold but I got off a couple of shots. .Hope ya like it! :P

Canon 1D, 500IS and 2x, Incident 1/640 at f10, ISO200. Groundpod/Wimberley.

I like this image a lot. The only thing I might do is take a bit of the snow off the bottom.

I agree with Harvey. Overall a nice picture but that large amount of OOF foreground, especially since its the brightest part of the photo, competes with the bird for attention.

Matthew,

Very nice shot. The colors and the pose of the bird look great.

Matthew, I like your approach to get this photo but feel that if you were a little higher you would have been able to include the legs and feet. I might also clone out some of what looks like bird seed. The bird looks awesome.

Beautiful little morsel! I agree a little less OOF snow in the FG but a lovely shot nonetheless!! 8)

Little beauty -- foreground is a bit stronger then the bunting.

Matthew,

You've heard about the fg snow. Still, it's a very nice image. :)

Thanks for the suggestions everyone... I agree with the FG suggestions, so I redid the image with a new crop... let me know what you think! 8)

P.S. Alan... thats not bird seed, its the gravel they were poking around in. ;)
