Peacocks (peafowl-captive)

As this two sunned at their hearts content at Crandon, I could not help but wonder how long this kinship will last, I am sure that by next year their coming into adult hood will surely separate them from each other as they will try to divide and conquer the females in the flock, Love between the sexes is never an easy undertaking, or for that matter for the faint of heart!!, And so is life!!!

Very nice pair. The image gives a kind of regal quality to the birds.

An excellent shot in difficult light. As some one else has said before me they have a regal look to them.

A regal pair indeed. Wonderful poses in difficult lighting. A lesson in life....and soon for me. Baby A has returned from college for Christmas. Baby B will be home from college Thursday. Let the games begin.....it will be a great territorial dispute the first 24 hours. Thanks for a terrific picture....and reminding me of what is to come.

Alex,

Very good DOF. The lighting is somewhat harsh.

The strong directionality of the light gives this image a great deal of depth. Wonderful composition. The story is an added bonus. :)

Well done Alex ... looks to have been a tough exposure regarding the light.

Alex,

Very nice shot. I like the composition with one head being higher than the other. The faces stand out well against the dark background.

Really cute shot of the pair. I especially like how they stand out from the background, it really adds to the image for me.

Very nice "family" portrait. I used to sell male Peacocks as "watchbirds" many years ago as they're quite territorial and make a ruckus if a stranger enters their territory.

Harvey, They have not change at all, I suspect the part of the DNA in which this behavior is codified is etched in stone!!! Once a behavior work and works very well it turns into ROM !!!, Thanks for looking!!

WOW ALex! I love the composition here. It has an artistic look, almost surreal. Great colors too. But this composition is outstanding.
