Hello NatureScapers..

There have been some wonderful shots here this week and I certainly appreciate the participation, especially this time of year when a zillion other things also require our attention.

This is a mountain goat image made at Logans Pass in October, Glacier National Park, Montana.. The MT Goat was browsing on the hillside away from the board walk, but stopped a second to lift his head. As you can see from his beard, the wind was blowing pretty good up there that day, spitting rain on and off.

You don't reallly need to take a 600 up to Hidden Lake to photograph Mt Goats, because if they are around they are often approachable in the 70-200 range. But because I humped the gear to the top, I was able to rationalize having two desserts that night :? ... a silver lining for every cloud.. :)

Thanks for looking and for any comments or suggestions.

How did you rationalize those multiple desserts the rest of the week?
Only kidding Dennis. Great shot. I love the colors and how you can tell the wind is blowing hard. Definitely worth the hike and the hauling of the gear.

Dennis,
I really like how this is composed. I like how the grasses/weeds form a diagonal that shows he is starting up the mountain and the different colored rocks/shrubs form a nice textured pattern in the background. Oh yeah, and the goat looks terrific too! :D Great shot!

Hey Dennis,

Nice goat. I'd like for a tad more room under his rear foot, and also a slightly lower perspective. Nice shot regardless, and well worth the haul.

Cheers

Nicely done, as always. A touch more room on the bottom would be nice.

If you wouldn't have brought the 600, they would not have been close. At least that's how my luck goes with Mr Murphy. (ie Murphy's law- what can go wrong, will go wrong.)

Great goat! Love the hair blowing all over. (I've never needed an excuse for two desserts! :) )
