Better a wet hunter than a dry prey

Getting rained out during a birding sortie in our islands is not too bad, as some birds continue with their usual routine even during downpours.

Here's a female Brown Shrike (Lanius cristatus) hunting from its perch under the rain at Macabebe wetlands, Philippines. I had to seek shelter in a fishpond shed while shooting this to protect my non-weather-sealed gear... :?

Great shot and good story (Sigmonster :D ). He does not look very happy. I might place the bird a hair farther left in the frame.

I love it! I really like the rain and the wet bird with that pissed look she has on her face. A great image Romy!

Romy:

Great commitment here to emulate, I love those shrikes. Here in North America we only have two types I believe.
