This is Safariguy Jeff and Betsy his Sigma 300-800mm lens shooting bighorn sheep on the Jasper STL last week. That lens looked killer sharp, focused quickly and gave Jeff one heck of a workout whenever he took it out. But he got some kickin' shots with it.

Canon 10D with wimpy 100-400IS @200mm on monopod, ISO 200, 1/400 @ f/10, post processing with Capture 1 and PS7.

I have a couple of tripods. This is a Reis. In cold weather the wood tripod is really nice as it doesn't get cold as a metallic tripod does. It is also very resistant to vibration. It is very comfortable to use as well... The only thing about using it with is getting really low with Betsy. Betsy and the Wimberley weigh in around 20 pounds or so....with a lighter weight rig it is no probelm at all.

Cheers,
Jeff

Great shot of the pair, Cheryl! Nice "habitat", too, the mountains are a really neat backdrop.
