This is really nice Jeff... beautiful complimentary backround, perfect exposure and tack sharp. Oh, and I like the perch! :)

I'm not sure what a "Empidonax" is, but it looks like some kind of flycatcher and a nice shot of one

This is awesome Jeff! I kind of like the OOF tail. It almost makes this look like a painting. Great detail & BG and I love the backside view. Very nice image!

I've never heard of low branch location being used to identify a least flycatcher, but with vocalization you can id to species. I like the over the shoulder look, but wish for mor DOF to have the tail in focus.

Was this in NY or CA?

Regards,

Terry

Terry- I did read in a guide that I have that Leasts tend to like lower branches to hangout more than Alder. I'm not familiar with Willow. Sorry that I forgot to post the location . . . closer to you . . . on a recent road trip, North Dakota.

Sweet shot. The BG is awesome. I like the little tufted hair on his head.

Jeff,

It's a great pose with the crest up and it sure is sharp where it needs to be. Maybe just a little more head turn would make it even better. Well done.
