I wish I could gone to f11 to get more DOF but I wanted to emphasize the gorget of this adult male RT. The only way that I could get it is with frontal lighting from the sun. The male was guarding his territory so he was scanning his territory with head movements and the gorget changed from a black to an intense red in matter of milliseconds, thanks to digital I was shotting like crazy until I found an evenly colored gorget later on breezebrowser.

All brutal comments are appreciated, thanks for looking.

It certainly comes by its name honestly. Very pretty. Though I also noticed the OOF bill, even before I read your comments I was thinking that you wanted to emphasize the gorget and having that OOF bill just drew my eyes to the gorget. Out of curiosity did you experiment with f9 and f10? For your purposes I think you did it quite well. Good head turn, good catch light.

Great look at the gorget here Juan. Unfortunately, not enough of it appears sharp and the quality suffers a bit. Still a neat shot as I know how fast they move those heads!

This needs more USM in my opinion, Juan. Even where I'd expect it to be sharp on the gorget, I find myself wanting it a little bit sharper. Definately got the color you wanted, though I think it might be worth your while to try this one again.

The gorget is just wonderful!!  I guess there is nothing that can be done in regards to the dof.
Here is another cropping option.

Congrats! I think you achieved your goal, Juan!
The gorget is showing wonderfully ... and Ofer's suggested crop looks good to me too.

Juan,

Very cool shot. You captured some wonderful colors both in the gorget and the head.

The gorget is stunning, love the pose too. Ofer's crop suggeston looks good to me.

I wish you could have gotten the dof you wanted though.

Gorgeous neck-tie on this little guy... only wish for more of the bill to be in focus.
