Turkey Vulture, Bombay Hook NWR, Smyrna, DE

Canon 1DMkII, 500 f/4 IS w/1.4, f/8, 1/640, ISO 400

There's a young turkey vulture who hangs out with one of his parents in this cool looking dead tree at Bear Swamp. His head might not be so attractive but I think the topside of his wings are so beautiful!

Comments appreciated!

Kim,

It's nice to see a pose with a view of the top side of the wings. Excellent flight shot.

Cool topside view, Kim. Love the pose and the high key BG works here.

Nice topshot of this bird.

I saw an adult TV feeding a juvi today and it was funny to see a huge bird like that do the begging behavior. :)

No flash. I think it must have been from the lighting that day.

Wow, thanks for sharing this one Kim, I have not personally seen a juvenile TV. Sorry to impact your lunch with the Osprey shot but I am not sure looking at turkey vulture head is much better :P :P :P I like the top shot, High Key, wing tip blur here!
