Nice job getting this group Alister. I wish there wasn't so much overlap though.

Alister:

Nice group, all three eyes are visible, maybe a tad more of USM.

Stunning depth of field. I like how I can study the differences between the godwit and the two wimbrels. Your background is great with all the layers. The warmth of the birds really pops against it.

Thanks,

Hi Alister, this is such an amazing capture! :!: :!: :!:

I hope you don't mind but I enjoyed playing with it in PS...
I felt that the Godwit weakens this great capture, added some contrast, fill flash, canvas to the left, selective sharpening around the eye of the bird on the right and reduced some noise...

Alister,

Very cool shot. It's amazing that you got all three in the frame.

Alister, I WISH it was my image but it is not - it is yours! I only played with it in PS just in order to show you that as an image it can be much better with a bit of PS work. (I know you don't like it too much.. )
From a birder point of view the original post is great having two birds from three species together in flight and reasonably sharp but as an image I think the second version looks much better.. :wink
