I don't recall seeing one of these guys on NSN before. I found him on the beach in Pacific Grove, CA recently.
For you avian trivia buffs, the wandering part of the name comes from the fact that it migrates very long distances and frequently shows up in places way outside its normal range. I assume the tattler part of the name comes from the loud calls it makes when disturbed. Enough for the lesson - I retired from teaching in 2004. 1DII with 500 and 2X TC, ISO 400, 1/640, f8.
