I thought I would venture away from the bird forum for a change and try a little close-up shooting. This was taken yesterday at a local botanical gardens. It involved a lot of anticpating which flower was next, but it was worth the wait, as I was able to get several nice shots of butterflies, wasps, and Anoles.

Welcome to FFM and I must say please stick around if you are going to post pictures like this.. This picture is gorgeous with excellent detail on the head, perfect exposure and sharpening. I like how the background is clean but complimentary in color to subject and flower. Again, thanks for coming over and making a contribution, you are always welcome here Wayne..

Colors from the background to the butterfly to the flower are very complementary - and complimentary as well. Like the detail in both the underside and top of the two wings. Would have preferred a less pronounced shadow on the left wing but suspect there's not much that you could do about it.

Nice one, Wayne.

Your patience paid off. This is one good looking image of a butterfly.

Thanks for the comments, everyone.

Have you noticed that I may have strayed away from the Avian forum, but my subject still has wings.
