Neil,

This is a great shot. Very nice! I like the orange sky in combination with the blue cast on the tufas... Interesting...

I was actually there too that day (just got home, haven't looked at the images yet). It was a very nice sunset. My wife wondered why we had to be the last to leave... Now I know she was wrong :)

As I stood there trying to negotiate the crowd I made a mental note to self:
"Never, ever, EVER, consider doing this professionally". With so many obviously serious photographers turning up for a Saturday evening, it must be a terribly tough business to make money in. Luckily, I'm very happy with my current day job...

Thanks for sharing!

Very nice. Fiery sky and the foreground rocks frame the image nicely.

50 photographers and you were the only one to stay for this? Holy cow! And 5 stops ND with f29 gets another Holy Cow! Well conceived and well executed.

Love the shot and the contrasts here with the textures in the sky contrasting with the textures in the tufas. Three tiny nits (tiny both literally and figuratively). At the far right there's a bit of rock that I would crop or clone out; just off the middle left at the top of the water there are three light spots that don't seem to belong there; and on the far right there's one small spot of pink water poking through the tufa that you might consider cloning out.

A gorgeous shot - slightly less sharpening would eliminate the sharpening artifacts.

Neil, the fiery sky and tufa textures are really wonderful. The water seems almost too light to me though, but maybe it's just me and my eyes since nobody else has mentioned it so far. It seems like maybe a few less stops of GND might have made the water look more real, but then you probably would have lost the tufa details.
