I guess this image could also be in next week's motif, as I shot this kingfisher in my back yard.

Boy are they hard to get! I'm anxious to try Alan Murphy's minnow cage to get them to stand still for awhile.

I tried to crop out more of the bottom log, but the image seemed crowded, so I stuck with the original.

Thanks for looking!

As I told you before I love this shot. Its very well done and are very lucky to get this close without a blind. A slight crop from the left would probably make it even better.

Lovely shot, Chris. It seems a touch dark on my monitor. You got a great background and detail too.

A great bird! The bird seems a bit dark to me also, but I like the BG. I have tried for a long time to get photos of these guys from my car, but they are gone like a shot before I can get even close to shooting.

What draws me to this image is the the awesome bg ... Indeed you were lucky to come this close without a blind. A slight trim from left would enhance this shot even further as already suggested by EJ.
Nicely done, Chris!

Great shot! The only time I see them still it’s on the monitor, when posted by someone else but not me! :)

Chris, this is great! The raised tail and crest is very nice. Rather than trim the left and mess with the stub, I would add some to the right if you have it. Good job with the exposure on the neck, not easy to do with this dark bird. An excellent shot.

Wish I could get so close to these guys. Seems a bit dark on my screen but it could be my laptop.

Remarkable shot with a superb BG. I'm with EJ on the comp; less room on the left or more room on the right.

Beautiful shot, The BG is perfect! Is that a snow goose flying near the moon in your avatar? That would be pretty weird b/c I have a shot almost exactly like that.. and our first name and last initial arethe same  .
