The bg is my house, the side and the sloping roof. Makes for an interesting second diagonal, I felt. More room at the bottom?

Nice and sharp, and well exposed.
The angle of the branch seems a bit odd. Is this a set-up perch ?

A nice shot of this little guy. I'm not crazy about the white part of the BG.

Eider, interesting story on that branch. To hang my feeder, I tied the dead wood to the string as weight as I todded it up and over a branch. Problem was that I'd tied it so well that I couldn't get it off! I didn't have a knife on me, it was raining and cold, so I left it. Next day I shot this photo.

I like the comp, a little tight on the tail, more room would help. I just wish the bg was more uniform.

I like it; the BG transition behind the bird I think detracts.
4 down, 2 to go.

I too think the perch is a setup and looks unnatural for a woodpecker ... and I prefer a unifrom dark bg.
Nice and sharp though, Chris!
