Mai Po, Dec-19-2004.
EOS 10D, EF500mm f/4 L IS USM, EF1.4X II, tripod, ISO200, manual, f/8, camera RAW, PS7, 36% of original.

It is one of shots taken in a ferrying sequence as Part 3 earlier. I read that they were still here on Christmas day, but today, it seems that they have all gone. :(

Reasons for motif:
1. Learn how the wing position of a in-flight shot is good "enough" for posting.
2. Learn to use AI Servo properly.
3. Learn why buying a 500mm lens is important :!: :D
4. Learn to use highlight recovery (or highlight/shadow in PS/CS ) to "boost" shadow area.
5. How to crop to make an impression.
6. How to perform proper sharpening

Of course there are a lot more to learn, though I don't know what will be around that corner. Anyway, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone here in NS who view my postings, also thank you all for taking time to comment on them. So long as you comment, I am willing to take more and post them.

Thank you for reading and viewing. Please comment bruntly as usual.

Regards,
Griffin the Poor.

I suppose you are *the poor* after you got your 500mm
Great image, you are on my next stage of the learning process, trying to master flight shots!!!
After a period of doubts, I think the 500mm is the way to go, thou it will take a lot of getting use to :?
Happy Holidays and thanks for sharing!!!!!!

Griffin,

Nice flight shot! I've just arrived in Argentina, and the Southern Lapwing is everywhere. I'm going to try to get a shot tomorrow morning. Cheers!

Good work. The bird lacks fine detail but I suppose it's from the large crop. Keep up the good work.

I am afraid there are some problems with PBase at the moment, and I find that I am not the only one being affected. Sorry about that.
