A simple question if I may. I have been using LR since 2008 and upgraded through LR6. The word Classic is now used and I believe that refers to the one-time purchase LR that I continue to use. LR Classic CC and LR CC have come along since then; I chose not to go that route. I believe my version is LR 6.1. I heard that my LR can no longer be updated; is that the case? I believe the upgrades to 6.4 apply only to LR Classic CC; is that correct? I get confused by the changing terminologies.

They are both subscription only.  There is no perpetual license purchase option and hasn't been for many years.  The difference is primarily in which platforms they run on and local vs cloud based storage:
