Bronx Zoo, NY (c)

My formal portraiture background came into play when photographing this Colubus monkey at the bronx zoo this morning. I waited for quite some time before the lighting and pose came together, as you see it here. Once the fundamentals are learned they can be applied to any photo discipline.

1D II, 600IS
exposure- 1/80 @ f/4, ISO 400

Best,

Beautiful portrait. Reminds me of a toothless old man contemplating life. Excellent lighting.

These guys are tough to shoot in the wild. Great exposure and great emotion in his face.

Technically is perfect in every way but the expression, head position and turned in lips makes it outstanding.

The Colobus Monkey is a great subject with its black and while colouring and very expressive face. Very nice portrait! 8) 8) 8) :)
