Well this is certainly one of my favorites and for sure one of my summer 2004 favorites......not an easy choice as we have had a very good season from king eiders to caribou. :D

I like this one for two reasons

The fox in the scene seems to express the vastness of our Tundra and the vision of ever ending and the time that I spent with the mother and the three pups one early morning at their den. There is nothing like the "silence of the tundra" and the quiet moments spent along side nature's best, at one point during the visit the mother and cubs all were peacefully sleeping :)

slight crop off the right to balance the scene

thanks for looking comments always welcome

Really a pleasing effect with this crisp fox popping out of that painted-like background. Great colors, great anchor. Your choice of subject size was perfect.

Cheers,

Fanstastic shot Doug. It certainly does convey the emotion you describe. A magical time for sure.

Great just like everyone else said although for my personal taste I'd crop off the top band of sky.

A very nice fox image and I find very little to critique. Maybe a slight crop at the top but this is very nice as it is.

This is beautiful Doug! The banded, dream-like BG and far-away expression on the fox really do portray what you describe to perfection. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) :)

Awesome. Definitely conveys your sentiments well. Only suggestion would be to concur on taking that bit of light blue off the top.
