Can't add anything to what's already been said. However from my limited knowledge of archeology, shouldn't the sun be between two significant peaks of rock at the solstice? :wink:

Beautiful structures there. Would prefer a slightly slower shutter speed, but the exposure and blending are perfect.

This is a wonderful and exciting image. I think the manual blending of two images (though I don't know how that is done) worked very well and probably yielded a better image than HDR may have rendered. Congratulations! Thanks for sharing.

Wow!!! IOW, many thanks to all for the comments. Curtis, I learned the manual blending technique from Alister Benn and studying the Tony Kuiper and Sean Bagshaw tutorials.
