Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Landscapes Gallery, week ending 1st June, 2012!Saw some epic light and atmospheric conditions tonight. We had a couple hail storms move through earlier and the clouds started breaking over Lake Superior around 1.5 hours before sunset.
I ran around like an idiot and had a tough time getting a good composition. This is the best of the evening.

WOW -- absolutely superb Shawn! Love the color in the sky, the reflection on the rocks, but most of all the fountains of spray. Expertly captured!!!

wow, your running around really paid off! Just wonderful color and that reflected light framed by the white water is the star.

Canal Park will be loaded. If you want any good locations you will have to get there 2-3 hours early and sit around. Skyline Drive can be an awesome vantage point, but it get's incredibly packed. Search on Flickr for Duluth Fireworks or Duluth 4th of July to get some vantage point ideas and then email me shawn at shawnthompsonphotography.com and I will try to point you in the right direction.
