Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Travel and Culture Gallery, week ending 13th January, 2012!In 2009 I took a sailing trip with the sailing ship Bark Europa by Argentina to the Antarctic. That was definitely one of the most beautiful trips in my life. It is not only very impressive nature experiences, with the tall ships, it is also a journey into the past.

I like this photo very much, because it sums up my impressions of the journey in one, I hope. On that day it was snowing quite heavily, so the colors are somewhat washed out in the background. And please excuse the slightly too big signature for this motif.
Your opinion is welcome, thank you.

great image....framing's a tad tight for me though, would have liked to see the whole ship and more of the foreground.

I hope you got some with the whole ship visible, but I love the three observers here - looks like they're discussing the arrival of the tourists!

Oh, this is so cool! Since the birds are the clear subject, I don't mind the clipping of the ends of the ship.

Nothing to complain about, this photo is awesome. There is a story being told here. It is a wonderful image.
