I wanted to capture a butterfly on a fir-tree as I had seen it done only once, so I trekked out to my favourite loaction as there were many little fir-trees on the field and waited for a BF to sit on it. This is the result. All critiques and opinions grately apprecited.

Very nicely done Sven. You found your subject and a very pleasing BG as well. Of couse we all would like to have more DOF in our marco work, but that's not always possible in the field.

Congrats!!!

Very very nice. The comp and colors are great. A little more DOF would be nice but with the butterfly all in focus it isn't necessary. I would be tempted to apply a curved adjustment to punch it up a little. The brightness, contrast and saturation are a little low. Easily fixed.
Thanks for posting this beautiful shot,

I think Wil's comments are right on. A slight increase in DOF and a little boost to the colors and this is awesome. Still very nice as is.

That little boost Wil mentioned would make this awesome composition standout even more.
Excellent shot still! :)

I agree with what Wil said. Also, I agree that more DOF would be nice to tweak the shot. But, it would an improvement on an already nice image. Well done.
