Where do you save profiles.

I got a new profile today, but I can't remember where to save it. I use CS4 & XP Pro. Can anyone list the path for me? Thanks in advance.

Hi Bill

I believe it is: Computer>OS (C:)>Windows>System32>spool>drivers>color I'm running CS5 and Windows7, but I'm pretty sure it's the same.

Thanks, but I'm afraid that didn't work Steve. Through System32 went ok, but there is no "spool" in System32. Any other thoughts.

If you don't have spool is system32 your PC wouldn't even boot. Check again - the above path is correct. It's been so long since I used XP but I don't recall that it was changed.

That saiD XP64 is a dinosaur that isn't half the OS that Win 7 is - if you can, I'd definitely upgrade.

You can also just right-click on the .icc or .icm file in Windows Explorer. You'll be given some menu options one of which is to install the profile. Windows will copy the file to the right place for you.

No, XP Pro doesn't allow that option - I tried that based on the instruction. I right clicked and used "save as" after I found the right path. Thank's all for the kind help.

The right-click install option is available on my XP machine, I just double-checked it. XP Pro SP3, fully patched up. Right-clicking a profile gives a context menu with the first option to "Install Profile".

Bill, what service pack is your system? I can't remember now if the function came in with a later SP / hotfix, or something like that. Of course, it's only a mild curiosity once you know the path where the profiles are installed...
