I missed E.J. by two days, but his friend was apparently still there, as this was taken last Thursday on a recent trip to Mt. Evans, Colorado. After spotting him on the side of a hill, I climbed down to get on his level and keep the sun behind me. He proceeded to move away slowly, eventually walking out onto a rock outcropping overlooking the valley below. I have been trying to shoot with a more editorial vision lately, so thinking in terms of a double page spread, I pulled back and placed the subject to one side, allowing for the other side to be open for title and/or text.

Hey Brett, I was there Thurs afternoon in the gloom and wind and never saw a single goat! I really like this composition with the goat on the foreground rocks and then the distant trees. very nice.

Brett,

Great job! I like the hills and valley of the rock outcrop mirroring the hills and valleys behind the goat. You did pretty well at 12,500 feet for a guy who lives at sea level!

Great composition!
