Snowy Owl
Captive
EOS300D, Sigma 100-300 F4 + 1.4TC, ISO 400, F8-1. 550EX -1.

This Snowy Owl and its mate were keeping watch at a wildlife conservation centre we visited recently. They had started to lay their eggs and were very alert. This one was sitting in the deep shade on a hot day so I used flash to bring out the detail from the shadows.

All comments and critiques always welcome and appreciated and thanks for looking.

I love it, Carol. Great pose. The star of the show is the just about perfect exposure, aided by flash.

:D :D Great pose and excellent exposure. The grass at the bottom adds a lovely sprinkling of colour.

Interesting pose with the wings held out and away from its body. The grasses add a nice touch but its the expert use of flash that has my attention. Well done Carol.
