This is a unique eagle image! I think I'd like to see the ends of the talons but otherwise really like the composition.

What I keep looking for is the 'ends of the talons' ...
Otherwise this is a superb closeup.

A little tight and some grain in the darks, but a nice shot.

Neat idea for an eagle image, but, I wish you included the entire claw.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. Interesting about the "more claw" comments as that's something that hadn't occured to me. It's good to get other eyes commenting on my images! With the "more talons" and "a bit tight" comments in mind, I revisited the original and unfortunately there's really no room for expansion. The posted image is 90% full frame but for some room up top.

Oh, I also agree that the shadows are a bit noisy. The posted image was processed while I was still near the bottom of the RAW processing learning curve (I'm still near the bottom but I've clawed and scratched a little ways up the steep curve).

Thanks again for the comments.
