Great Blue Herons in rookery
Crofton, BC - June 13, 2004
D2h 500 + 1.4 1/500s f/8 significant crop

The rookery on Shoal Island, near Crofton, BC has over 120 herons this year. I visited it this morning and caught this exchange between two herons. The lower one would surge upwards and they would snap at each other and then settle back, only to repeat again.

An interesting shot, Rory!

Since the branch of leaves on the left serves no purpose, I'd suggest to include more room to the right of the frame instead ...

Neat interaction. I would clone out the dark branch on the left and crop this to a vertical panorama to put even more emphasis on the line between the bills.
