Welcome to NSN and nice first post, Kent!

You may want to consider using fill-in flash to open up the shadow parts if you got another chance to shoot this fellow again ...

Kent, welcome to a fellow Houstonian. Nice first post. Fill flash would help with the side lighting and I would perfer the head turned more to the side or face on, so we can either see the whole other eye or no eye at all.

Lokk forward to seeing more of your work.

Welcome to NSN -- nice first post. As Alan stated a fill flash would have evened out the lighting.

I like the dramatic lighting. Makes him look like one mean dude.

Nice first Kent and welcome. You've got a nice portrait and the suggestion of using flash to fill in the shadows is a good one. Hope to see more posts from you.

Very nice first post. Fill flash and a touch of USM would really pop the bird with more impact. Look forward to more from you after this good start!! 8) :)
