I just returned from a very productive trip to Colorado, where this image was taken last Thursday, late in the day atop Mt. Evans. This was only one of many great wildlife encounters over the last several days, all made possible by my host and good friend, Bob Smith. As this coyote appeared coming down the hill in front of us, I hoped that he would stay along the ridge on the opposite side of the road. Fortunately he did, and I was able to capture this, and a few others, that I had envisioned in my head when I saw the scene begin to unfold. That doesn't seem to happen to me very often.

Well done. Great having him coming at the viewer with the front paw raised.

Nice close up and I really like the implied motion with the raised foot. Even though it was later in the day, the shadow shows the sun was still pretty high and the WB seems a little on the yellow side for the shadow present. For my tastes, I wouldnt mind about 1/3 or 1/2 less eV.. You did excellent getting close, previsualizing the shot and making it happen. Good eye contact here.. Thanks for posting..

Amazing shot Brett...I was up there a couple days ago and only could make it up about half way because of fog...not the best road in bad conditions  I'll try again tonight.
