A Great Egret with Mating Lores and Laced Feathering in a Peacock formation is just incredible and unique.

That is correct, Mike. I was just about at the MFD for the 500 mm lens and wanted only a kiss of flash. For that reason I made sure my ss exceeded x-sync (easy on the 10D) and that the flash was at its lowest setting.

Welcome back, with a bang, Sandy. This is gorgeous, as usual.

We'll all be anxious to see what magic you make with the new 1DII.

This is gorgeous. I'm not sure what I'm more impressed with....stacked converters or that there was no crop. I'm always amazed at your stacked converter shots....given I've tried before and only have 2 that were decent. Excellent image...a work of art. And....ever so glad that you're back.

Wow Sandy, Perfect technique with stacked teleconvertors. I can see the texture on the green lores!!!!!!!!!. See, sometimes disabilities are gifts in disguise, it obligue you to shot from that modified golf-cart-walker-tripod-chair that you have, it must be rock solid, can you also bolt it to the boardwalk ??

You amaze me not only with your creativity but with your courage to be out despite physical problems.

Sandy this is a very unique image.... Aside from the techs it's difficult to get a clean eye level shot at the Farm.

The composition is sensational.... I like this image very much!!!
Congratulations!!!!

Sandy, a very artistic shot - congrats! This will definitely stick in my head as one of the more memorable egret shots I have seen in awhile.
