nothing like chas' eagle shot... but at least i'm trying ;-)

Any eagle shot is a good one in my book. The only thing I would wish for is a little different positioning in the frame as Alan has suggested. Nice job with this one.

Gigo, a fine shot. Flash might have opened the shadows; post-production could do the same. I agree with a right crop, allowing more space in front of the eagle's head than behind.

thank you all for the pointers - i take it most people like the square crops here with bird centered :-)

this was taken a hundred yards south of the mahogany hammock path... i didn't have time to put on a flash... i was doing landscape when i spotted this guy and i don't have a big lens :-) i consider myself lucky he let me get this close because 20 seconds later he was gone !

Cool. I like the wind-blown feathers and perch its on. A bit off the bottom and right would help but it is great as is.
