This is another one of my manual flash practice shot taken in my backyard. I'm still having some problems with post-production. Just can't seem to really get over the hump. I think my problem is in the re-sizing the image for the web because on my 23'' Mac flat screen monitor my images look pretty good.

All comments welcome.

Roy, Wonderful bird and a very nice pose, the best way to process your images is by doing all the corrections on the full size , cloning, cropping, dodging . etc, etc!! One you crop for the Web is when you sharpen, a little at a time based on 100/0.2/0, do a pass or two and see what it looks like, if need be go back via the history pallet and start all over again!!
Here the manual flash looks pretty good, the colors are very nice as well, a hair soft around the head, but the legs are pretty sharp as presented, always focus on the eye and re-compose for better results!!
Well done, congrats!!! 8)

Roy, your file size is 71KB, where it could be up to 120 KB. That will help.
i think some more USM could help. Other than that the image is very nice.

A nice image.....you're getting there. Good suggestions have been made. It just takes time and practice with PS. You did a great job with the flash....better than I'm doing at the moment.

Very nice job here. A little isolated USM around the head might help just a tad bit. A great pose on this bird!
