The bat flight at Carlsbad. I know it is grainy, I had to push the Ektachrome to 800 to get this shot. They don't come in daylight you know! :wink:

Nikon F2, 24 F2.8, Ektachrome 160 pushed to 800.

I think this is cool. I can't say I've ever seen an image of this before. You can definitely tell what is going on here. Interesting how there's a distinct column of bats and not just a mass of them.

Interesting... very heavy magenta cast... is that the scan or the actual color. Neat shot either way!

The magenta color was the late dusk color that is pretty close to what it looked like.

Cool shot and not one many get to see in real life...probably the subject that drives people away.

must be my bat week. ...I watch a similar documentary on a cave of bats in SA and this is just like what they showed just before sunset the bats all escape from the caves. Similar to a Snow Goose lift at Bosque only these are screaming chirping bats..?
