This island had quite a selection of birds mating, sitting on nests, posing , etc. Check out what is coming.
Espanola in breeding season is a treat.

Okay, I won't ask about the exposure comp, but why the f/19 and therefore the slow shutter speed?
Very different and cool pose. I would selectively sharpen the eye which may help counteract the poor light on the face.

Interesting technicals to say the least...

Looks like maybe selective contrast could make the bird pop a bit from the background which is a little confusing.

The whole exposure situation and aperture was from the night before for a sunset. In the excitement of everything, I made an error and forgot to verify my camera before shooting. Just another Murphy thing. It was eventually noticed and corrected, but not until I blew some amazing shots including a masked booby chick being fed.
I do have some wonderful shots, but half from this day were exposed improperly. Just exhausted and not thinking clearly that morning. We often delete things like this, but since this was a natural history trip, I decided to just bear all and include some errors where their content value was more valuable than the wow factor of a beautiful shot.

Love the pose Steve, can't forgive the technicals. :) I might forget a few things if I was in a new area seeing something like this too.

Steve, I know how exhausting it can be touring the Galapagos and therefore forgive you on the technicals (about which I know little). The position on this Blue-foot is incredible!! 8)
