You got the bird in the correct place in the frame (for a small in frame) so the composition is good. It is a very good environmental shot showing the habitat. I would have gotten low, closer and isolated the bird.

Nice habitat shot. I go along with Jill on perhaps cropping out th top group.
Looks like a pretty muddy situation and you my guess would be that you didn't want to go for a lower angle!

I wanted to try if I add a contrast between the main subject -- little egret with other shore birds in the background. Appearently it does not work. :P

I cannot get lower because I was shooting from a bird hide...Other birders there would have buried me into the mud if I were to go outside... :lol:
