Also having trouble uploading images from desktop

I'm new to the forum. I have successfully uploaded 3 images previously from my desktop, but tonight it's a no go. I'm clicking on the "browse" button next to the "select image to upload" then clicking "upload file" and a box appears in the preview box with a red X in it -- but no photo. I use Internet Explorer and I just deleted cookies as suggested in the previous post, and it still doesn't work. I do not have a firewall program and haven't changed any settings since my last post. What am I doing wrong and how can I fix this?

The new file you're trying to upload may have a special character in it which breaks our image upload code. See this note:

If you are using any of these sorts of special characters in the image file name, removing them will fix the issue. If you're not using such characters then we'll have to look at some other cause.
