Well all looks great with the new format. a lot of work for us to further enjoy our photo community...I did notice that when one clicks on a link in the topics and or a web link in the topic the link opens and leaves NSN...is it possible to trigger all links to open in a another window and or tab...thus NSN will still stay open in the original tab.

One can hold down the “Ctrl” button when clicking on links if this cannot be done I guess

Thanks folks for all your hard work.

Doug, what browser are you using?
You can configure both Firefox and Internet Explorer to force new windows into a new tab.

If you use a mouse with three buttons or a scroll wheel that you can press you can often open links that way and have them open as a new tab as well.

Hi I have IE 7 and the "force new tab" is in effect...this works fine for all other pages and forums I visit and did work for the old NSN as well...just the new NSN does not open a new tab...the feature should not be a site by site preference...it is possible the new format and codeing of the NSN forums is not allowing the New Tab to be enabled...
thanks

It's in the list. Not sure why it's not acting as before...

Any movement on this? In phpBB2, links to offsite would open a new window (or tab depending on how you had your browser configured). In phpBB3, they do not do that. Any way to change that behavior? I know I can press CTRL-click on FireFox to force it to do that. Would be nice if the board did it by default as before.

Most links open in a new tab or window for me (in FF2 and FF3 as well as Safari and Opera). Can you give examples where it doesn't?
For instance, this test link (http://www.naturescapes.net) opens in a new tab for me, as do most links in signatures etc.

My bad. Appears to be working as I desire now. When was this changed? I wasn't doing this in the last week.

It was fixed sometime in the middle of June, not sure exactly when.
