An image I have been trying to get for a couple years. I have the babies on the mother's back but wanted one on the mothers head. Finally.
Image made at Loxahatchee NWR.
Nikon F5, Nikkor 500mm AFS f4, SB26 @-.7, with BB. Matrix @0 comp.
SS 1/60 f5.6, Provia F100, Scanned on Epson 2400 flatbed.

Great behavior shot. I like that you can see mom's head underwater and the baby's reflection. Very nice. My only suggestion might be to get rid of a catchlight or two.

I'll bet this slide is just killer. Great interaction and the reflection is a big bonus IMO.

There's a LOT of great wildlife to be seen and photographed there! One of my favorite places as well. My motif shot in the Birds forum is from there. What's always surprising to me is how much more wildlife is out in the open spaces than in the woods where the boardwalk is.

I've never caught one of these gator babies riding on Mom, though I've seen plenty of baby alligators there. Way to go! Outstanding shot!
