I would like to know what people recommend for editing RAW images from Canon's 10D in BreezeBrowser based on image sharpness.

Considering the strong anti-alias of 10D images, what is the best way to judge which shots to keep and which to dump? If a shot is way soft its easy to tell, but how do you judge the shots that are close to being sharp, but are not quite there?

What I am doing now is shooting with the in-camera Parameters/sharpness set to one click above zero and when looking at the shots (large thumbnail) in Breeze Browser I have the View/High Quality box checked. This is good for judging most shots, except those borderline sharp ones.

Would C1 handle the issue better than BB?

I look at it this way Paul, If the image is still soft with Ctrl-Q enabled, its too soft and should be dumped. If it looks OK with Ctrl-Q enabled, its at least sharp enough for WEB use although might not be sharp enough for an 8x10 print. In that case, I will only keep it if I really like the image, otherwise I dump it.

Paul,

In Breeze Browser I do the following from the thumbnails view.

1. ctrl-A (select all images)
2. ctrl-S (Display Slideshow)
3. ctrl-Q (Sharpen image)
4. Left and Right arrow keys to go to next or previous images.
5. Up arrow key to tag the images I like or the images I want to throw away.

I hope this helps.

As for sharpening with C1LE, there is an option where you could preview the image sharpened and choose to sharpen the final output. Since I use external sharpening tool so I turn it off.

Ditto here. It speeds up things a lot. You can then drag and drop images to any order you want in Thumbnail View, so you can compare similar images in the 2nd slide show and narrow it down even further.
