Nikon AFS 105mm f1.4E ED new lens just announced.

https://www.dpreview.com/news/6025394569/nikon-introduces-ultra-fast-af-s-105mm-f1-4e-ed-prime-lens

For some reason the Nikon url for the page doesn't load properly, but the lens is listed there.

Few people actually use their 1.4 lenses for portraits wide open. The first thing you notice when you do is that usually both eyes won't be in focus and sometimes the iris of that eye isn't in focus, the eye lashes are. I'm considering it though I'll probably wait until after the initial release since I have no immediate need for it.

I've always considered the 105mm focal length to be the perfect portrait lens. It's good to see a lens like this out there on the market. If I made my living doing portraits with Nikon gear, I would get one of these for sure.

The best lens Nikon has introduced in a long time - really quite stunning performance:

This lens looks amazing indeed - very, very tempting - just wish I was able to justify its purchase!
