Finally found you guys, lurked for a while and now thought I'd start posting. As my inaugural image I'm posting this biting mosquito. Some of you may recognize this shot. It was the first image I used from some "other" photo posting site a few years back.
Image

Taken with a Nikon FM2, Nikkor 105mm micro, lots of extension, 3T and 4T diopter, manual flash, and Fugi Velvia.

I'm itching just looking at this shot. Blood's a big bonus. Look's like this gal just about has a full tank. :)

Great shot- one that we can all relate to! Hope you didn't have to try too many exposures to get it right.

The female mosquitoes are, as most people know, are the ones that seek the blood meal. The guys are satified with stuff like pollen. The protien in the bloods helps them to lay a larger number of eggs that yeild stronger larva.

Welcome, Bryan. Amazing image; could you get the eye a little more parallel with the film plane next time? Just kidding; with a belly like that, nothing else is important, I suspect.
