I take it this was a shy fly. I like seeing the BG thru the wings.

Very good, I see you closed the aperture :D that much I know about macro, DOF is very limited. Translucnet wings, huh? Nice :)

Alfred, I love the background. I love the way the bug looks like it's smiling. I love the way the bug looks like it's looking at me. I love the sharpness of the wings.

Always truthfully, Lisa :D

Very nice Alfred! :)
The comp looks fine, and it might could benefit with a bit more light. Some levels/curves maybe?
The head looks a tad soft also, but some selective sharpening might do the trick with that one.

Still, .................. nice one dude!! :)

Thanks for posting Al,
Mike

Wonderful pose. It does appear a little dark to me too.
I would add a little USM to the head and you'll have a killer shot.
Thanks for posting,

Great perspective Alfred. One very tough exposure and subject to get on a dark background. The macrolites might need to be pushed a bit more in this case. Tell you what I do, but it might not work with what you are using. It will work on hmmmm, another camera though :D

Spot meter for the daylight in the background. Hold that exposure. Now dial in the flash for the subject. The sunlight takes care of the background and the flash takes care of the subject. I used that with the Canon and Nikon SLR's as well. Always manual though. So I'm not sure on the 1D M8t. That does work well on the FZ's though

All the best DBer :D

Danny.
