Peyto Lake - Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada
EOS 1D, 28-70 @ 35mm, 3 frames, 1/1250, f/8, ISO 200

This image was taken around 11:00AM shortly after the clouds cleared on a crisp October morning. For those that have seen lots of images of Peyto Lake from this vantage point, notice something unique, a complete reflection in the water - this is very unusual at this lake due to ripples in the water from wind spilling down off of the glacier off to the left.

What a grand view Beautiful lake colour and balance with the mountains and as you say not a ripple.

Good to see the clear air as well, no smoke or haze as most of the summer was.

Did you ever notice the lake looks like a fox? :?

Nice. Those blues are quite amazing, and the reflection adds a bit more interest to the lower part of the image.

Really nice! You must have felt quite fortunate to catch the lake like this. Hard to imagine a lake that big with nary a ripple!

Cool shot, E.J.

Not sure it'll look like that when I'm there in January! :)

That's superb, although I can't get my eye from the fox's head after reading Doug's comment ;).
