Thinking the day of shooting was over at the STL Triple D workshop, we were racing back to the motel to meet up with everyone when we were presented with this unexpected opportunity. A wonderful end to an already great day of making images.

Nikon D1X, Nikon 12-24mm f/4, 1/30 sec, f/22, ISO 200

I just noticed that none of the posts I placed today are showing an Icon preview of the image in the forum areas. Does anyone know why this might be? Is anyone else seeing the icon?

Thanks

I remember this! Its much better than anything I came away with but I was so cold I couldn't stop shaking when we took these due to the wind. Excellent shot. I have not been able to figure out why no thumbnail is showing for this photo.

Brett,
Nice image. I like the inclusion of the dead tree in the foreground. I am just curious, did you happen to have an image from a little higher vantage point to help define the tree better. In this instance I think it loses its impact since it sort of blends into the hills. Just my opinion.

No, I don't believe that I do, though I know I have lower ones. Some frames were taken looking at the sun through the arch of the dead branch with expectations of a more dramatic feel, but ultimately I did not think they worked.

Thanks for commenting.

This is great all around. The starburst and the warm light and the comp. All great!
