I just had to share this, this is something I have never seen before.

The dragonflies were swarming around the dunes, in huge clouds. I took a few shots -- this one has a bunch of em in it.

I am putting it here because it is a landscape image (of sorts) even though the most interesting feature is the flying dragons.

Sony DSC-F717, 1/500s f/5.6 at 22.8mm iso200, 100mm equiv.

Very well done - an interesting shot. I would be tempted to bring up the levels of the grass a bit without affecting the sky.

I have always thought it was cool to see large groups of dragonflies! What a great idea to capture the scene, very neat to see all of them hovering over the field.

Unique and lovely perspective. I like it a lot.
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.

Hey Matthew this is really cool - would be especially interesting in a decent size print. Well conceved and executed.

I think seeing more detail and color in the grass would add a lot to this.

Neat concept. TBH the grass dominates the image so much I didn't notice the dragons at first.

Thanks all.

There is a lot more detail in the grass visible in a larger image -- 600 wide just doesn't do much justice to the grass or to the dragonflies.
