Taken today at Newport Backbay. The tide was in and so were the ducks. It was relatively diffuse overcast conditions in the AM, With the water level high the shooting angle was not as steep as I shot 3 years ago here. I was the only photographer there.

10D, 600IS, ISO200, EV -1, fill at -1, full frame.

Comments and reposts welcome.

Nice Jim. Love that large drop of water coming off of the tip of the bill.

Great shot and the drip rocks...

Great shot of this Teal Jim. Glad you were able to get this bird, I know you were hoping to find them. Fine plumage and the flash is handled well.

Excellent image Jim. I have'nt seen one of these yet. I find the images on this forum greatly assist me in identifying birds, better than a book somehow.

Very nice! Great looking duck and nicely exposed. A bit centered but still works fine. Love the water drop!

Nice shot of a duck I'd like to meet. I've only seen pictures of them....are they hard to find out there? The duck is gorgeous with excellent detail. I had to laugh....the first thing I thought of when I saw this was my twins....when they were two and had runny noses!!

A pretty bird for sure and the shooting angle is actually very good for Upper Neport Bay.

Jim,

Very nice image. You handled the exposure well. The fill flash did the trick.
